New York HIV Research Centers Consortium 2008 Scientific Conference "Setting an HIV/AIDS Research Agenda for New York State" Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Sponsored by: The New York HIV Research Centers Consortium
>>Final Report: HIV/AIDS Research for New York State for the Next Decade<<
This Conference brought together researchers and community representatives to craft recommendations for an interdisciplinary HIV/AIDS research agenda for New York State. It supplements a NYS AIDS Advisory Council report which urges the creation of a NYS HIV/AIDS research funding initiative. An HIV/AIDS Research Initiative based in New York State would provide funding to New York State applicants: (a) for pilot and feasibility research that can inform larger federal grant proposals, thus making them more competitive in review; (b) to support the research of developing investigators who are the future of innovative science in this State; and (c) to facilitate and support critical partnerships between researchers and communities affected by the epidemic.
