Funded by: NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health
Project dates: September 2022 - June 2023
Principal Investigator: Choi, Sugy
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This study examined the overall landscape of addiction health services research in the context of Asian Americans.

It will help fill current research gaps by:

  1. Systematically summarizing prior research on Asian American addiction health disparities literature and datasets with a goal of assessing the data quality and treatment gaps for Asian American subgroups.
  2. Exploring ways to increase quality of Asian American community/subgroup data by engaging key Asian American addiction or mental health services informants such as healthcare providers, academics, and community-based organization (CBO) partners to provide recommendations for future data collection and reporting procedures for Asian American subgroups to improve addiction disparities research.
