BIO
Marta Concheiro-Guisan is Associate Professor of Forensic Toxicology at John Jay College of Criminal Justices, City University of New York. She received her Diploma MSc in Pharmacy and her PhD in Toxicology both from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Scientist at the Chemistry and Drug Metabolism, at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), NIH, in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Concheiro-Guisan has great experience in new analytical methods’ development and validation, and the toxicological analysis in different kind of specimens (plasma, blood, urine, oral fluid, hair, sweat, tissues). She has actively participated in Drugs and Driving Research Projects, including the ROSITA (Road Side Testing Assesment) and DRUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs) European Projects, to study alternative matrices to detect drugs impairment, and in Clinical Protocols at the University of Santiago de Compostela and at NIDA involving different types of drugs of abuse and drug exposure during pregnancy. Dr. Concheiro-Guisan has more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and she has participated presenting her work at more than 30 professional toxicology meetings.
